Mahatma Gandhi visited our campus in 1929 and applauded the education provided here to parents as “Send your children here for good education; they will receive good education here…….it is better that this organization does not have money, the society will nurture it”
Renowned astronaut Sunita Williams is a daughter of this soil. Her father is an alumnus of this Trust. Sunita visited this campus on September 21, 2007 and expressed her indebtedness as , “I would not have been whatever I am today if this institution had not parented and nurtured my father after he lost his parents in childhood.”
History of Establishment :
In the Year 1965 Science college was established and it has been developed gradually ever since. In the Year 1991 it received blessing of “Param Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj”. Based on his name and charity fund the college is known as “Pramukh Swami Science College”.
After that the college started Arts faculty. In 1991, Shri Hargovinddas Memorial Trust, Mehsana gave financial support and it is known as “Hargovinddas Dhanabhai Patel Arts College”. The expansion of educational opportunities provided by the Trust is phenomenal, fast and prolific. The trust believes in moving with time appreciating societal needs.
Pramukh Swami Science and H. D. Patel Arts College is the first higher education institute of the Trust. Established in the year 1965 as a science college, it was upgraded to Science and Arts College in the year 1992. This college is affiliated to Hemachandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan.
College offers various Under Graduate, Post-Graduate and Ph.D. level programs in Science, Arts and Vocational stream.
